About

Dakota Fusion Futbol Club is a Fargo, North Dakota–based soccer organization launched in 2016 to grow opportunities in the Red River Valley. The club builds on inclusivity and love for the game: it aims to deliver a quality soccer experience that can inspire youth, keep environments professional and positive, and develop players who can test themselves against stronger competition when they are ready. In January 2024, Red River Soccer Club merged into Dakota Fusion FC so families in the region could align youth pathways under one umbrella.

What the club offers

Recreational soccer emphasizes shorter seasons, club-provided coaching, and a Rec+ format that keeps many families to one day per week by combining practice and small-sided play. Pre-kindergarten includes three-, four-, and five-year-olds. Recreational coaches are often academy players working alongside academy coaching staff so younger players learn from teenagers who still compete at a high level.

The academy pathway serves U10 through U19 players who want the highest local commitment. Academy soccer targets disciplined attendance, family support for travel, and readiness for tournaments where many events fall outside a four-hour drive. Programming is organized across fall, winter, and spring or summer blocks. For the 2025–2026 soccer year, academy rostering groups boys and girls born 2008 through 2017; each new soccer year refreshes birth-year bands and detail for boys and girls tracks.

Dakota Fusion FC also fields adult semi-professional teams: the men’s side has competed in the National Premier Soccer League since 2017, and the women’s side joined the Women’s Premier Soccer League in 2018. Senior home matches are played at Jim Gotta Stadium at Moorhead High School.

Fees, travel, and what families pay for

Academy program fees cover coach pay for training sessions, coach insurance, training field rental, administrative costs, and equipment as defined for that team year. Tournament entry fees are handled separately so families pay only for events their team selects after coaches gather input. The men’s NPSL team posts a player registration fee of $350 for the 2026 season, running roughly May 1 through July 10 depending on playoffs, with additional equipment and housing deposits at registration that cancel back when gear is returned and housing stays undamaged.

Registration and player intake

Recreational spring and summer seasons enroll through SportNGin registration forms the club activates for each season. Academy families work through the boys or girls academy track for the soccer year they are joining for tryout, roster, and tuition detail. Prospective men’s NPSL players submit applications through the club’s SportNGin prospective-player form for the season they are targeting. Out-of-town NPSL players can receive host-family or club-arranged housing and transportation to away matches; players typically cover travel into Fargo, most meals, medical costs, personal gear, and day-to-day living expenses during the season.
