About

Georgia Impact Soccer Club is a Canton-area organization serving Cherokee County families across beginner, recreational, and competitive pathways. Programming runs from toddler introductions through high-school Select teams, with elite boys teams in MLS NEXT Academy Division and elite girls teams in Girls Academy Aspire. Recreation relies on volunteer coaches; Academy and Select use paid staff coaches with structured training loads and league play that scales by age and level.

What the club offers

Recreational soccer welcomes players ages 4 through 19 in fall (August–November) and spring (February–May). Sprouts serves 2–4 year-olds in six-week sessions focused on motor skills and play. Developmental Pre-Academy (DPA) is the most competitive U8 bridge before Academy, with staff-led training. MLS GO, Major League Soccer’s grassroots recreational program, targets ages 6–10 with April–May evening sessions at Free Home Elementary and Clark Creek Elementary.

Academy covers U8–U12 with limited travel: U9–U10 teams play 7v7 and U11–U12 play 9v9. Academy trains twice a week in 90-minute sessions across a year-round calendar (fall and spring seasons). Select covers U13–U19 at 11v11 with travel requirements that vary by team level; U13–U14 Select can add a full spring season alongside high-level tournaments. Top boys teams compete in MLS NEXT Academy Division; top girls teams compete in GA Aspire. Many teams also compete in the Southeastern Clubs Champions League (SCCL) for ages U13–U18. Goalkeeper training is offered twice a week in Academy and SCCL programming.

Tryouts and competitive placement

Competitive soccer requires tryout attendance for every player. Evaluations are run by the coaching staff, and placement decisions follow within 48 hours after the last tryout day. Tryouts are held in late May through early June and again in mid-January, normally at Badger Creek Park unless families receive a different venue. For the May evaluation window, Academy (U8–U12) is set for May 18–20 and Select (U13–U19) for May 26–28. MLS NEXT Academy Division and GA Aspire ID clinics are set for May 3 and May 10 with U11–U14 blocks in late afternoon and U15–U18 blocks in the evening. Online signup through PlayMetrics is encouraged; walk-up registration is available at tryout sessions. Confirm each season’s exact schedule before traveling because dates move year to year.

Recreational registration and fees

Per-season registration fees for 2025–2026 span Sprouts at $130; recreational soccer from $190 for U4/U5 and U6 through $300 for U16 and combined U17–U19 brackets; and Developmental Pre-Academy at $465 for eligible U8 players. Uniforms are billed separately on top of registration, with the current uniform bundle at $95. Spring 2026 recreation opened registration November 17, with late fees beginning January 15 and registration closing January 31; team assignments follow February 6, practice starts the week of February 9, first games February 28, and the season ends May 2, with a spring-break blackout April 4–12 and picture day April 25.
