About

Pleasanton RAGE is an all-girls soccer club based in Pleasanton, California, serving players from about ages 4 through 18. The organization blends a large recreational membership with Select and competitive teams that feed elite league pathways, plus camps, club-run tournaments, goalkeeper training, mental performance coaching, a TOPSoccer inclusion program, and referee-development support tied to the East Bay Referee Association. RAGE also connects families to Pleasanton RAGE USL W League activity for pre-professional women’s soccer.

Mission, vision, and values

The mission is to empower players through soccer paired with service and leadership programming across ages and abilities. The vision is to deliver a nationally recognized all-girls soccer experience while building valued skills on and off the field. Daily culture is organized around Respect, Attitude, Greatness, and Expectations: respect for teammates and standards, a positive mindset, continuous growth, and holding oneself to high personal standards. Whole-player development, leadership, and community service stay at the center of how teams train and compete, and RAGE has won two national championship titles.

Recreational soccer

Recreational soccer is the largest part of the club and focuses on a consistent, positive experience for families across Pleasanton and nearby communities. Additional recreational training camps and academies are open to enrolled RAGE players who want extra touches outside core team schedules.

Select and competitive pathways

Select bridges recreational play and full competitive commitment: players attend tryouts, earn invitations, and train under paid RAGE staff when teams form. Competitive programming targets athletes ready for advanced training and league travel, with teams chosen through tryouts. Tryouts sort players into Pre-ECNL, Premier, ECNL, ECNL Regional League, Orange, and Grey bands by age, aligning squads with ECNL, NorCal Premier, National Premier Leagues, and other regional leagues the club partners with.

Goalkeepers, tournaments, performance, and USL W

Goalkeeper-specific training sits alongside field-player development for athletes who want dedicated shot-stopping and distribution work. RAGE runs showcase and seasonal tournaments for youth groups from U9 through U19. Mental performance coaching adds structured support for confidence, focus, and emotional well-being. Pleasanton RAGE USL W League programming is hosted on a companion organization site for families following the adult pre-professional pathway.

TOPSoccer and referee development

TOPSoccer serves participants ages 6–18 with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities through inclusive, volunteer-supported sessions. Each seasonal block (spring, summer, fall) meets at Muirwood Park in Pleasanton with defined evening times, and families register each session separately. The referee program partners with the East Bay Referee Association for licensing courses and assignments; youth ages 13 and older may certify, work games, and pursue referee incentives for new and returning officials, including reimbursement after completing a set number of RAGE home matches within the eligibility window spelled out for each campaign.

Tryouts, fields, and budgeting

Tryouts and placements for the 2026–2027 cycle are scheduled in May at Val Vista Community Park on Johnson Drive in Pleasanton, with different evenings and times by birth year for Competitive versus Select groups. New families may attend a spring open house at Pleasanton Middle School on Case Avenue before tryouts begin. Training and games also tie to other Pleasanton-area venues such as Aquatic Park at Amador Valley Community Park, Stanford Medicine Sports Complex, Bernal Community Park, and Muirwood Park, depending on age group and program. Across Select and Competitive levels, annual family budgets routinely include a club training fee, uniforms, tournament entry, coach or trainer travel, personal travel, and team-specific expenses, so families should confirm the latest fee tables when they register.

Contact and registration

General questions route through the club contact form with department choices that include registrar, coaching leadership, and club administration, while the online club directory helps families reach specific volunteers directly. Competitive and Select registration flows use the TGS parent-account system families use for tryouts and team placement. Recreational enrollment opens on announced seasonal cycles. For TOPSoccer, families can email lauren@pleasantonrage.org; referee reimbursement questions go to tamieshadle@pleasantonrage.org after qualification criteria are met.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and program levels does Pleasanton RAGE offer?RAGE serves girls from about ages 4 through 18. Core pathways include recreational soccer, Select (tryout-based with paid staff coaches), and competitive teams aligned with ECNL, ECNL-RL, Premier, Pre-ECNL, Orange, Grey, and related NorCal and NPL structures. Add-ons include goalkeeper training, recreational camps, club tournaments from U9–U19, mental performance coaching, TOPSoccer for players ages 6–18 with disabilities, and referee development through the East Bay Referee Association.

Where are tryouts and common training locations?2026–2027 Competitive and Select tryouts and placements take place at Val Vista Community Park, 7350 Johnson Drive, Pleasanton, CA 94566. Families should also expect practices or games at other Pleasanton-area complexes such as Aquatic Park (Amador Valley Community Park) on Black Avenue, Stanford Medicine Sports Complex, Bernal Community Park, and Muirwood Park on Muirwood Drive, depending on team and season assignments.

When are tryouts and newcomer events?Competitive tryouts for the 2026–2027 season run on scheduled evenings in early May, with Select tryouts grouped in mid- and late-May windows; exact nights and times vary by birth year and team band. Families who are not yet with RAGE can attend the open house on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Pleasanton Middle School, 5001 Case Avenue, Pleasanton, CA 94566. Complete the tryout registration steps inside the TGS parent-account workflow the club uses for competitive and Select players.

What does TOPSoccer cost and how is it scheduled? Each seasonal TOPSoccer session costs $30, with spring, summer, and fall blocks that each include six on-field meetings (summer and fall future dates are announced when finalized). Sessions run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Muirwood Park, 4701 Muirwood Drive, Pleasanton, CA 94566. New players receive a TOPSoccer shirt, and families register every season separately through the TGS public-programs flow, expanding the search radius if they live more than ten miles from Pleasanton. Direct questions to lauren@pleasantonrage.org.

What should Select and Competitive families budget beyond club tuition?Annual family costs often include the club training fee, uniforms, tournament fees, coach or trainer travel, personal travel, and additional team expenses. Recreational, Select, and competitive tuition figures change each cycle, so families should review the current registration details or speak with the registrar before committing.

How does RAGE support new referees?RAGE partners with the East Bay Referee Association for licensing, education, and game assignments. Youth ages 13 and older may certify and begin earning income while learning the laws. New or recertified referees who finish certification by May 2026 can qualify for a $125 reimbursement from RAGE after working five RAGE home games before that May deadline; email tamieshadle@pleasantonrage.org once those games are complete. Spring workload bonuses tier upward with games worked and center assignments on the scale the referee program shares each season.

How can families contact or register?Use the club contact form at pleasantonrage.org/contact-us/, pick the department that matches the question, or open pleasantonrage.org/club-directory/ for volunteer-specific emails. Competitive and Select families manage tryouts and rosters through their TGS parent accounts. Recreational registration opens when the club announces the next seasonal window. TOPSoccer families email lauren@pleasantonrage.org, and referee reimbursement questions go to tamieshadle@pleasantonrage.org after requirements are met.
