About

Skyline Soccer Association (SSA) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) youth soccer organization rooted in the Denver metro area since 1965. The club serves roughly 4,000 players each season from about age 2.5 through 18, with programming for beginners through advanced players across Denver, Englewood, Centennial, Cherry Creek, Sheridan, and nearby communities.

What the club offers

Grasshopper (about 2.5–3) and Munchkin (about 4–5) introduce the game through short, high-energy sessions focused on basics and fun. Recreational soccer spans 6U into high school ages: younger rec teams rely on volunteer parent coaches and mostly in-house or local scheduling, while older recreational teams can train one or two times per week and play home-and-away schedules in the CSA Front Range League or an interleague setup with Colorado United and Real Colorado. Additional SKILLS training is available for 6U–7U recreational players.

Developmental Rec serves 8U–12U with volunteer-led teams that also receive five staff-led training sessions per season at a set park with their age group, plus league play in the same Front Range or interleague structures in small-sided formats (5v5 through 9v9 depending on age). Elite programming is available for 9U–10U, and Competitive soccer runs 11U–19U. Competitive teams train under professional coaches and trainers using an age-appropriate curriculum tied to Skyline’s player development plan, with 9v9 play for 11U–12U and 11v11 for 13U and older in Colorado Soccer Association Advanced Leagues.

MLS Next Academy Division is the MLS NEXT youth system’s second competitive tier, pairing regional league play with national tournament access aimed at college, professional, and national-team exposure. Skyline places 13U–19U boys in Mountain League play, with winter and spring event blocks on the calendar and indoor training at Skyline Indoor Center in Denver for part of the schedule.

Where teams train and play

Home fields and opponent travel depend on age group and program. Younger recreational games often stay concentrated at Denver-area parks such as Southmoor Park for 8U, while older rec and developmental rec teams should expect home-and-away travel that can extend beyond Denver and the immediate suburbs. A fields map lists parks—including Ash Grove, Bible Park, Central Park, Kennedy Soccer Complex, Harvard Gulch North, and many others—with addresses and real-time weather through Perry Weather widgets. The administrative office is at 3799 South Jason Street, Englewood, CO 80110.

Registration and next steps

Families create accounts and register through PlayMetrics using the club’s login link. New families exploring competitive or academy placement can submit the club’s interest form so a director of coaching can follow up. Program-specific questions route to directors and administrators named for Grasshopper and Munchkin, recreational ages, developmental rec, elite and competitive bands, and MLS Next Academy Division leadership; general questions can start with the main office line or info inbox.

Mission, philosophy, and coaching approach

Skyline runs a broad, community-scale nonprofit model: high participation numbers, multiple on-ramps by age and ambition, and a mix of volunteer-led community soccer with professionally coached competitive and MLS Next Academy Division tracks. Competitive programming stresses individual and team development across technical, tactical, physical, and psychological pillars. MLS Next Academy Division teams lean on nationally licensed coaching, clear performance expectations, college guidance for interested players, regular video review, and flexibility for high school players on older teams where that applies.

Fees and practical planning

Grasshopper and Munchkin enrollments are sold as six-week sessions priced at $85 each, including a team T-shirt; families supply shin guards, cleats are optional, and balls are provided at the field. Those programs run in spring, summer, and fall. Recreational and competitive tuition, tryout fees (if any), and uniform bundles are not summarized here in one table—expect to see current amounts inside PlayMetrics or in follow-up from staff. The office is open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and closed weekends; a separate weather line is available at 720-317-2882 for field status alongside the Perry Weather tools tied to each park.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and program levels does Skyline Soccer offer?Skyline serves about age 2.5 through 18. Grasshopper and Munchkin cover the youngest beginners. Recreational soccer runs from 6U into high school with volunteer coaches and league structures that grow from local games into Front Range or interleague play. The club also offers Elite banding for 9U–10U, Competitive 11U–19U under professional coaches in CSA Advanced Leagues, and MLS Next Academy Division for older boys in Mountain League play.

Where does Skyline train or play?Teams use many Denver-area parks—Southmoor Park hosts 8U recreational games, and home sites include Kennedy Soccer Complex, Bible Park, Central Park, Ash Grove, and Harvard Gulch North, each with mapped addresses and Perry Weather links. Older recreational and developmental rec teams should expect wider home-and-away travel. The office is at 3799 South Jason Street, Englewood, CO 80110, and some MLS Next Academy Division training uses Skyline Indoor Center on South Bryant Street in Denver.

When are tryouts or registration, and how do families sign up?Registration and roster management run through PlayMetrics using Skyline’s club login. MLS Next Academy Division tryouts and talent-ID events are announced seasonally with specific dates and venues—for example, past high-school-boys windows have used Skyline Indoor Center—so families should confirm dates in PlayMetrics or with MLS Next Academy Division staff for the active year rather than relying on older calendar lines. New players can also submit the club interest form so a director of coaching reaches out.

What do tryouts or registration cost?Grasshopper and Munchkin six-week sessions are priced at $85 each, including a team T-shirt. Tryout fees, deposits, and full seasonal tuition for recreational, developmental rec, competitive, and MLS Next Academy Division tracks are handled inside PlayMetrics or communicated by staff after placement conversations, so ask the office or your age-group director for the current fee sheet tied to your player’s program.

What is the club’s mission, philosophy, or coaching approach?Skyline operates as a large nonprofit community club that still runs elite pathways: volunteer-led rec soccer for breadth, professional coaching and a formal player development plan for competitive ages, and MLS Next Academy Division for boys targeting regional MLS NEXT competition, national events, and long-range player ambitions. MLS Next Academy Division programming adds licensed coaching staffs, performance standards, college guidance, video review, and bio-banding or play-up options when appropriate.

How can families contact Skyline or get updates?Call the office at 303-691-5662 Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., email info@skylinesoccer.org, or submit the online contact form.
