What the club offers

Travel soccer targets players moving beyond recreational soccer. It includes fall, winter, and spring activity, with practices and home matches in Trumbull on grass and indoor surfaces. League play generally faces clubs across Fairfield County at levels chosen to match player needs inside the Southwest District. Away trips usually stay within about a thirty- to forty-five-minute drive, with occasional exceptions. Beyond league fixtures, teams typically plan two tournaments each year, including a fall weekend around Columbus Day and a spring tournament.

Premier soccer begins around U12 and is built for advanced players who can handle more training, travel, and tournament load. Premier teams follow fall, winter, and spring programming, train and host home games in Trumbull, and compete in CJSA EDP and Premier League schedules. Away games can reach anywhere in Connecticut, and squads may enter up to four tournaments a year across Connecticut and nearby states.

The Trumbull Soccer Academy is a joint effort between TUSC and AYSO Region 186, with curriculum support from Tri-Town Soccer coaches. It gives U6, U7, and U8 players who outgrow standard recreational pacing a grouped training model without fixed season-long teams; players train in ability-based pods, can move groups as they grow, and still form teams for friendlies, jamborees, and tournaments. Academy participation requires full Trumbull residency and proof of address, and families must also enroll in the AYSO Core Rec program. Evaluations (not fee-based tryouts) are used for U7 and U8 entry, with sessions held at InSports Centers in Trumbull when scheduled. Registration for Academy and Core Rec runs through ayso186.org under available programs. Optional winter training add-ons may be offered for an extra charge.

High school aged options are part of the broader club structure when participation and interest support teams.

Where teams train and play

Outdoor and turf training and games use town facilities such as 72 Strobel Road and the turf field at 307 Indian Ledge Park Road in Trumbull, Connecticut. Final field assignments follow Parks and Recreation availability and team schedules.

Tryouts, seasons, and registration

Open tryouts for competitive teams are usually held in May to build rosters for the next cycle that begins in late August or September. For the 2026–2027 season, tryouts are scheduled May 4–8. The tryout committee coordinates sessions, while the Director of Coaching and coaching staff handle evaluations and placement. Team counts and roster sizes depend on qualified athletes who attend.

The annual rhythm typically starts with one to two preseason practice weeks, followed by fall league games from early September into November. After a short holiday break, winter training resumes in January and runs into March, then spring league play runs from early April into June. Managers share practice, game, and tournament details during the year.

Mission, coaching, and family support

TUSC blends volunteer governance from player families with professional coaching on the field. The club invests in multi-season development, winter training bundles for Travel and Premier, and league play on weekends. Player fees fund three seasons of practices, games, and tournaments rather than single-season billing. Families facing hardship may apply for assistance before accepting a roster spot; applications go to the club treasurer and approval is not guaranteed.
