About

Bolingbrook Soccer Club (BSC) is a community youth soccer organization serving Bolingbrook and nearby southwest Chicago suburbs with recreational leagues and the competitive BSC Raiders travel program. Established in 1978 as a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the club draws more than 1,000 players each year who want structured soccer at the level that fits their family—from first-time Mini Soccers through high-school travel rosters.

Recreational programs and age groups

Outdoor recreational soccer is organized by age on the first game day of each season, not by parent choice or skill band. Mini Soccers serve preschool players in small-sided 4v4 games on compact fields. Elementary (kindergarten and first grade), Minor (second and third), Junior (fourth and fifth), Intermediate (middle school), and Senior (high school) divisions scale field size, ball size, and rules toward full FIFA-style play at the older levels. Every recreational player is guaranteed meaningful minutes—at least one quarter on offense and one on defense, and typically three quarters when roster size allows.

Spring recreational registration opens in the first week of February and fall registration in the first week of June. Games run on consecutive Saturdays at the club’s Lily Cache field complexes, with younger divisions at the West fields and older divisions at the Main fields. Head coaches set practice times after the player draft, usually one or two sessions per week. Recreational players cannot also roster on a BSC travel team in the same season.

BSC Raiders travel soccer

The Raiders travel program is the club’s competitive branch for boys and girls roughly U7 through U18/U19, with multiple rosters per birth-year band at different competitive tiers. Professional trainers work alongside IYSA-certified coaches approved by the BSC board to develop well-rounded players through steady training and league competition against skilled opponents from neighboring communities.

Travel teams register with Illinois Youth Soccer Association leagues, including IYSA, Illinois Women’s Soccer League (IWSL), and Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) pathways depending on roster and gender. Through the United Elite Soccer Club Alliance, BSC also connects motivated players toward Elite Academy, Development Player League, and National Premier Leagues competition when placement fits the athlete’s stage.

Participating on a travel team is a year-long commitment from July through the following June for teams through U14, with fall and spring outdoor seasons and optional winter indoor play. High school travel teams follow a half-season outdoor schedule plus winter indoor. Home matches are played at the Lily Cache Sports Fields on Hassert Boulevard (111th Street) just west of Weber Road, with away games at partner clubs’ facilities.

Tryouts, placement, and supplemental opportunities

Primary travel tryouts and registration for upcoming seasons run through the club’s online registration system, including dedicated 2026–27 travel tryout and season programs. Supplemental tryout windows may open when rosters still have openings after the main evaluation cycle—families should watch club announcements for current dates because schedules can shift.

Recreational players who earn a travel roster spot may receive a full recreational refund or apply those fees toward travel costs, which helps families move up within one club rather than paying twice in the same season.

Fees, uniforms, and financial assistance

Recreational fees have historically been $95 for Bolingbrook residents and $110 for non-residents, including a field-maintenance component and non-resident surcharge. Recent fall recreational signups on the club registration platform have shown $110 to $160 total with early-bird and multi-child discount options—confirm the current season total when registering. Refund deadlines align with the recreational calendar, often tied to jersey distribution and coach draft dates.

Travel team fees vary by roster because costs bundle professional training, league registration, officiating, winter training space, indoor league fees when applicable, and multiple tournaments (typically two in fall and one in spring). Uniforms are purchased separately—Adidas kits through Soccer 2000 commonly run $130 to $155 and are designed to last about two seasons before a design refresh. The club hosts the Labor Day Soccer Festival to help offset program costs and emphasizes affordable competitive soccer rather than mandatory team fundraising.

BSC’s Financial Assistance Program offers need-based aid from a limited annual pool funded by the club budget and sponsor support. Families who demonstrate hardship should contact the club about FAP eligibility before assuming travel or recreational soccer is out of reach.

Fields, community, and contact

Main Lily Cache fields sit at the corner of Weber Road and Hassert Boulevard (111th Street). West Lily Cache fields are about a half mile farther west on Hassert near Trails End Road and host Mini Soccers, Elementary and Minor divisions, and U8 travel teams. The board of directors meets on the second Monday of each month at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Activities Center (BRAC), 200 Lindsey Lane.
