About

Rock Springs Avengers Soccer Club (RSASC) is a volunteer-led organization that brings organized youth soccer to Rock Springs, Wyoming, and nearby Sweetwater County communities. Families can choose recreational play for beginners, a competitive pathway for players who want more games and travel, or follow club-hosted tournaments that draw teams from around the region. The club emphasizes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes while teaching the game to players and parents alike.

Recreational and competitive pathways

Avengers Recreational Soccer welcomes children ages 3 through 14 with no prior skill requirement. Volunteer coaches and parents run practices and games focused on learning fundamentals and enjoying the sport. Avengers Competitive Soccer serves players ages 7 through 18 who are ready for skill development, evaluations, and teams that compete in a more demanding setting, including Utah League play for many rosters. The competitive seasonal year runs from August 1 through mid-July and splits into a fall window (August 1 through October 31) and a spring window (April 1 through June 15).

Evaluations, registration, and team placement

Competitive players register through GotSport for each playing season even when they remain on the same roster for the full seasonal year. Fall evaluations are scheduled between June 10 and July 1, with fall registration open June 1 through June 10. Spring evaluations happen in November on an as-needed basis to fill open roster spots. Competitive fall registration runs May 20 through June 15, with Utah League rosters due by June 20. Spring competitive registration opens November 3 and closes January 3. Teams and players accepted at fall evaluations carry through the seasonal year, but each fall and spring playing season still requires registration.

Spring competitive fees and extras

Spring-season competitive fees are U8 at $240 and U10 and older at $290, each covering spring insurance and entry to three spring tournaments. Ninth grade and up have the player bond fee waived during registration. Families who choose the alternate participation option pay $125 plus $55 per tournament attended. Utah League fees are billed separately from club registration. Checkout accepts credit and debit cards only. Uniform kits—three jerseys, three shorts, and three sock pairs available as a bundle through the club’s Challenger Teamwear store—are purchased separately. Returning players keep assigned jersey numbers; new players contact the club for a number before ordering.

Tournaments and community events

The competitive division hosts The Rock Challenge each September for U8 through U18 travel teams, with games at Crossroads West Park on Gookin-White Mountain Road in Rock Springs. The club also maintains an adult summer league for players age 16 and older from June through August, aimed at raising the level of play across Sweetwater County. RSASC board meetings take place the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in Room 3650 at Western Wyoming Community College.

Scholarships and how to reach the club

Need-based scholarships are reviewed case by case; families submit the club scholarship application by email to rsavengerstreasurer@gmail.com with a June 15 deadline.
