About

Utah Development Academy (UDA) is a Salt Lake City–area nonprofit competitive youth soccer club serving more than four hundred boys and girls from about ages seven through eighteen. The program fields twenty-three boys teams from younger ages through under-nineteen and four girls teams from about under-seven through under-fourteen, with committed boys and girls from roughly under-eleven through under-nineteen training two to three times per week year-round, playing in Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) leagues in fall and spring, and adding in-state and out-of-state tournaments when teams schedule them. Beyond games and training, the club connects soccer to community impact through service-style work such as park clean-ups, free soccer clinics, and back-to-school supply outreach with partner organizations. UDA emphasizes access and family-centered support: the club operates on the order of thirty teams and about four hundred fifty participants, with a large share of players qualifying for free or reduced-price school lunch and many households enrolling more than one player in the same season.

Tryouts and registration

New and returning players complete tryout registration before attending evaluations. For the 2025–2026 cycle, tryouts are offered at no charge; families register through the club’s Google Form for the active tryout window. All tryout sessions for that cycle take place at Kennedy Junior High, 4495 South 4800 West, West Valley City, Utah 84120. Players should arrive about thirty minutes before their assigned window for check-in, attend every session scheduled for their age group, wear standard soccer training gear including shin guards and cleats, and bring water. Only players and UDA staff are allowed on the field during tryouts; parents remain behind the designated spectator line. Results are communicated within about forty-eight hours after tryouts conclude. Anyone who cannot attend but still wants consideration can email admin@udasoccer.org with the player’s name, date of birth, gender, and a short description of playing level.

Philosophy in practice

Coaches and staff focus on developing well-rounded student-athletes—technical and tactical growth alongside character, health, and school balance—while working to keep soccer within reach for kids who want to play. The nonprofit structure and community projects reinforce that players are expected to contribute off the field as well as on it.

Practical notes for families

Seasonal tryout dates and age-group schedules change each year; confirming the current signup form, times, and any weather or field updates with the club before traveling avoids surprises. League assignments and training locations vary by team within UYSA play, so roster-specific questions belong with coaches or administrators. Supporters can volunteer or donate toward programming through the involvement paths the club promotes.

How to reach the club

Day-to-day questions for families go through phone, text, and email because administrative staff work remotely—there is no central office walk-in. Email admin@udasoccer.org or call or text +1 385-259-0772. General correspondence mail goes to PO Box 520217, Salt Lake City, Utah 84152. Seasonal updates also appear on @udasoccer (Instagram) and the Utah Development Academy Facebook page.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and program levels does Utah Development Academy offer?More than four hundred boys and girls from about ages seven through eighteen take part, with twenty-three boys teams spanning younger ages through under-nineteen and four girls teams from about under-seven through under-fourteen. The competitive track emphasizes committed boys and girls from roughly under-eleven through under-nineteen, with year-round training, UYSA league matches in fall and spring, and optional tournaments.

Where does the club hold tryouts and where do teams play? For the 2025–2026 tryout cycle, all sessions take place at Kennedy Junior High, 4495 South 4800 West, West Valley City, Utah 84120. Competitive teams play in Utah Youth Soccer Association leagues; regular training sites and home-field patterns depend on the team and season, so families should ask the club for the specific locations tied to a roster.

How do tryouts and registration work?Every interested player, including athletes already on UDA rosters, completes the tryout registration form before attending. New families use the Google Form signup for the active seasonal tryout window. After tryouts wrap, families typically hear within about forty-eight hours. If a player cannot attend tryouts but still wants consideration, email admin@udasoccer.org with the player’s name, date of birth, gender, and skill level.

What do tryouts cost?Tryouts for the 2025–2026 season are free; families still need to submit the tryout registration form ahead of time so check-in and grouping run smoothly.

What is Utah Development Academy’s mission and philosophy? The club uses competitive soccer to help youth grow on and off the field: skill and game understanding matter, but so do school balance, health, character, and giving back through community projects. UDA works to keep the sport accessible so families are not turned away simply because a child wants to play.

How can families contact Utah Development Academy or follow updates?Because staff work remotely, phone, text, and email are the usual day-to-day channels: admin@udasoccer.org or +1 385-259-0772. General correspondence mail goes to PO Box 520217, Salt Lake City, Utah 84152. Follow @udasoccer on Instagram and Utah Development Academy on Facebook for seasonal updates.
