About

Evansville Youth Soccer League (EYSL) is a recreational youth soccer league serving families in Evansville and southwestern Indiana. The league keeps costs down while emphasizing participation: every registered player gets on a team, learns the game in a supportive setting, and plays in a family-friendly atmosphere. Programming is split into boys and girls tracks, with spring as a major season anchor and community volunteers powering most coaching roles.

What the league offers

Age groups center on U7 and U9 through U14 divisions. U7 emphasizes scrimmage-style play without formal league scoring, with participation recognition for every player. Older divisions add structured games, standings-style competition when enough teams register, and awards for top finishers when divisions are large enough. The league also coordinates a Foundational Skills summer camp for ages 6–14 as an extra skills option outside the regular season calendar.

Registration, fees, and season rhythm

League signup is online only. Players are placed on a first-registration-received basis, and teams are built with random assignment—no guaranteed placement on a specific team or with a friend group. For the spring 2026 cycle, registration has been scheduled from Sunday, January 18 through Friday, February 21, with spring registration priced at $70 for U7 and $90 for U9 through U14; that fee includes a team jersey and socks. Coach meetings and team formation work follow in late February, with coaches notifying families about rosters during the week of March 1–7. Practices may begin as early as Sunday, March 1, a Saturday jamboree in mid-March kicks off the spring match block with short games and community activities, and Sunday games or scrimmages can start the next day. The spring playing period runs into May before wrapping.

Coaching, equipment, and sideline expectations

Coaches are volunteers; roster capacity in each age group depends on how many coaches step forward. Families provide shin guards and footwear—molded soccer cleats or athletic shoes—with shin guards required at every practice and game. The league issues the jersey and socks players wear for matches. Jewelry policies, cast restrictions, weather and lightning protocols, parking safety around Vann Avenue Fields, and expectations for respectful behavior toward referees and coaches are part of how EYSL keeps games orderly for kids and families.

Summer camp

Foundational Skills Camp is offered in partnership with Challenger Sports, with a June 8–12, 2026 session window for ages 6–14 and both half-day and evening camp options. Families register for Foundational Skills Camp through Challenger Sports’ Configio camp signup.

Where teams play

Home soccer happens at Vann Avenue Fields near the corner of Vann Road and Lincoln Avenue in Evansville, a long-standing recreational soccer hub for the Evansville area. Overflow parking directions point families to additional street and nearby lot options when the main lot fills.

How to reach EYSL

Email evansvilleyouthsoccer@gmail.com for league questions or to raise a hand as a volunteer coach during the registration cycle. When registration windows are open, families complete signup through the league’s online registration tools; between windows, contacting the league by email is the clearest path for timing and program availability. The league also shares updates on Facebook, and Team Central hosts schedules and standings during the season.
