About

FCE United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth soccer club based in Evansville, Indiana, serving families across the Tri-State area. The club traces its roots to 1997 as the Evansville Girls Soccer Club, added boys’ programming in 1998 under the Football Club of Evansville identity, and merged with United Elite in 2022 to form today’s FCE United. Teams train and compete from introductory ages through high school with licensed professional staff and a development-first culture.

What the club offers

Junior Academy (U5–U6, birth years around 2020–2021) is an introductory track for ages four through six: one training session and one game day per week, twelve-week fall and spring blocks, and pool-style game rotations so players see varied teammates. Academy (U7–U8, about 2018–2019) bridges toward travel soccer with three sixty-minute practices weekly, in-house games plus friendlies and tournaments, and fall, winter, and spring seasons including a futsal-style winter block.

Advanced Academy (U9–U12, about 2014–2017) adds three ninety-minute sessions weekly, competitive league play and tournaments across fall and spring, a six-week winter training window, club concept nights, game analysis, and individual player development work. Older travel programming splits into Classic and Elite bands for U13–U19 (about 2007–2013): Classic teams use two fall and spring practices (with U15+ fall starting after the high school season around mid-October), one winter session weekly, and four tournaments per soccer year; Elite teams add a third fall and spring session, two winter sessions, five tournaments, and college-recruiting support such as Q&A and exposure opportunities. U15–U19 yearly outlooks emphasize friendlies and showcase-style events in the fall window before spring league play.

Leagues, showcases, and training extras

Travel sides represent the club in top youth platforms including NPL, GLC, and ISL, with local, state, regional, and national tournaments plus college showcase events for appropriate ages. The club also runs seasonal camps across the year, summer and winter break training options, speed and agility work in partnership with Dekker Development, Yomby Elite small-group training, and a College ID Camp to connect players with recruiters.

Fees, uniforms, and financial aid

Travel and academy tuition bundles league and governing-body fees, tournament allocations, USYS or US Club player passes, coach travel where included, coaching salaries and education, background checks, facility use, goalkeeper training, college guidance for older groups, technical and functional training or battle days for younger groups, three practices per week in applicable programs, six weeks of winter futsal, a set number of fall and spring tournaments in the annual outlook, individual development programming, club operations (insurance, registration systems such as PlayMetrics, VEO cameras and analytics, and related overhead), and a need-based aid pool. Uniforms, personal travel, extra events outside the package, and optional off-season camps remain the family’s responsibility.

The Thomas J. Dragon Scholarship Fund offers partial need-based assistance toward club fees (not full coverage); team fees, travel, and uniforms stay with the family. Awards typically require an accepted online commitment, deposit paid, complete application, staying current on team financial obligations, at least eight hours of assigned club volunteer work, and uploaded federal and state tax documents through the aid portal. Timing and award levels vary by budget and applicant volume, so families should email the Executive and Finance Director for the active cycle’s deadline and steps.

Getting started and everyday logistics

New families may start with a two-week free trial: after signing up in PlayMetrics, a coach or team manager follows up with practice times and field assignments, and the player trains like a rostered teammate before deciding on membership. Questions about programming go to William Yomby, Director of Soccer and Club Operations.
