About

Glendale Soccer Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit youth soccer organization in Indianapolis, founded in 1987 around a simple goal: a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience that helps kids build a lifelong love of the game. The club runs spring and fall seasons for players roughly ages 4–19 and follows Indiana Soccer Association and U.S. Youth Soccer guidance.

What the club offers

Recreation soccer serves Pre-K through 4th grade in a non-competitive format focused on fundamentals and fun. Recreation Plus is the step-up track from 5th grade through high school: teams play in the North Central Recreational Soccer League (NCRSL) against other northeast Indianapolis–area clubs, with more game rhythm than pure in-house rec but still lighter commitment than full travel soccer. Divisions are organized by school grade, not age alone, and space in each division can be limited.

Practices, games, and seasons

Teams practice one evening per week, Monday through Friday, for about an hour; families can note a preferred night at registration and the club works to honor requests when possible. Typical practice sites include Clearwater Elementary School, Riverwood Park, and Sidener Academy School. Each team plays at least eight games per season. Games may fall on Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons, or weeknight evenings. Fall seasons generally run from mid-August through late October; spring seasons run from mid-April through late May. Coaches usually begin outreach in early August for fall and early March for spring.

Recreation home games use Clearwater Elementary School or Riverwood Park. Recreation Plus home games use Clearwater Elementary School or Eastwood Middle School, with away fixtures for that league generally within about a twenty-minute drive of Clearwater Elementary. Recreation Plus schedules four home and four away games, and NCRSL invites teams to an end-of-season tournament at Lawrence Soccer Park; Glendale covers the tournament registration fee for its Recreation Plus teams.

Fees, uniforms, and aid

Season fees have been set at $155 per player for Recreation and $170 per player for Recreation Plus. Those amounts have covered eight games, a team uniform, team pictures, and a participation medal in Recreation. Multi-player family discounts and financial hardship scholarships are available; families should email the club for eligibility and details. Shin guards and cleats are required, and players should bring a ball and water to practices and games. Jersey and socks are provided; uniform shorts may cost extra.

Partnerships and summer programming

Glendale is an Indy Eleven Youth Soccer Program partner club, part of a broader effort to grow access to soccer and support community-based programs. Every registered Glendale player receives two complimentary Indy Eleven match tickets, and the club ties into Indy Eleven technical coaching through a preseason Indy Eleven/Glendale Soccer Camp. Summer camps run through a long-standing host partnership with P2 Soccer, with annual sessions held at the International School of Indiana near the Butler University campus.

Coaching, volunteers, and culture

The organization depends on parent and community volunteers for coaching, team management, coordination, and board leadership. Soccer experience is not required to coach; attitude and commitment matter, and the club offers training resources plus a seasonal coaches course. All coaches complete a background check and SafeSport and Heads Up! training. Playing time is intended to be divided equally regardless of ability. The club encourages multi-sport athletes and asks families to share schedule conflicts with coaches as early as possible.

Registration and correspondence

Online registration opens and closes on a seasonal schedule through the club’s Stack Sports registration portal. When a season’s listing is not visible or checkout is unavailable, email the club for the next signup window, division availability, or board approval for play-up or play-down requests. General mail goes to P.O. Box 20704, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220.
