About

Lighthouse Soccer Club is a not-for-profit youth soccer organization in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—Philadelphia’s oldest youth soccer club, with roots dating to 1897 and induction into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. The club sponsors programs for more than three hundred young players roughly ages 5 through 18 and also fields adult open teams.

Programs for children and teens

The in-house program serves ages 3 through 8 with a non-competitive, instructional focus on fun and development and has run for more than three decades. Boys and girls travel teams cover ages 7 through 18, with fall season games beginning in September. Across its programs the club fields players from age 5 through adult.

Adult soccer

The adult program fields men’s open and reserve sides known as Lighthouse United, made up of players who previously played at Philadelphia-area clubs and schools. Those teams compete in the United Soccer League, with games typically on Sundays from Labor Day weekend through Memorial Day weekend.

Schedule, tryouts, and new players

Tryouts for various teams are held each spring. Families without an assigned coach or team can submit a new-player inquiry so an available coach can follow up and schedule a tryout when a roster spot may open. For travel, the club continues to accept new players; placement depends on team availability.

Registration and fees

In-house registration uses the club’s online form. For spring 2026, the fee is $85 per player, including a t-shirt and soccer ball. Sessions are traditionally Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM; the six-session spring block runs April 11 through May 16, 2026, with registration due by April 1, 2026. Registered in-house players age 5 and up may join optional weekday evening game nights when field space allows. Travel registration is $300 for one player per family, $375 for two, and $425 for three, scaled automatically by family size. Families not already assigned to a team or coach use a separate new-player form.

Philosophy, conduct, and league ties

Lighthouse Soccer Club operates with a mission-focused board structure and follows the U.S. Youth Soccer Code of Conduct. Travel and competitive programming connect to regional leagues including the Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer League, DELCO League, Independent Girls Soccer League, Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer, United Junior Soccer League, Inter-County Soccer League, and Philadelphia Department of Recreation programming. The club is affiliated with U.S. Soccer, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

Fields, directions, and club gear

Dogs and other pets are not permitted at the fields. The main playing area is reached from U.S. Route 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) near Southampton Road and Hornig Road, across from Benjamin Rush State Park. Fan wear with the Lighthouse logo is available through the Nike club store on soccer.com.
