About

Barça Academy Austin (Presented by Cupra) is the FC Barcelona–affiliated academy serving Texas within the Barça Academy US network. It runs development and competitive soccer for boys and girls from about ages 4 through high school, applying the same training structure, session design, and methodology used at FC Barcelona’s first team and youth academy, with FC Barcelona technical directors on site to lead the technical, tactical, physical, and physiological work across the season.

What the club offers

Seasonal programming follows the school year from August into early June. The Development path includes Pre Academy play for roughly U5–U7 and Academy training for roughly U8–U10, with two sessions per week, internal league games, and—at the Academy band—added CAYSA competition. The Competitive path covers roughly U11–U12 and U13–U19 with three trainings per week and weekend league play across US Youth Soccer channels, including STYSA, WDDOA, CAYSA, South Texas Champions League, and State Classic League; U13–U19 teams also compete in ECNL-RL through STXCL. A Burnet-based program trains boys and girls U9–U13 twice weekly in CAYSA at Haley-Nelson Park on a full-year rhythm. Add-on tracks include a Technical program (about ages 6–12, open enrollment, one or two sessions weekly), a Pre Academy kids track for about ages 4–6 with internal league weekends (open enrollment), and a Goalkeeper program for ages 6–18 with small groups and one or two weekly sessions. Competitive and most development placements flow through tryouts; technical, Pre Academy kids, and goalkeeper supplements use open registration where noted.

Mission, methodology, and values

Training goals emphasize impact on long-term player development, teaching skills and personal habits that support growth on and off the field. The competitive curriculum stresses FC Barcelona–style technical and tactical ideas, teamwork toward shared goals, a supportive training environment, and the HEART values: Humility, Effort, Ambition, Respect, and Teamwork. Development programming focuses on movement patterns, decision-making in game situations, sportsmanship, and cognitive and coordination growth. Groups are formed by age and level, and FC Barcelona coaches work with about twelve field players per coach in typical training design.

Where training happens

Primary Austin-area training and games use Circuit of the Americas (7800 McAngus Rd, Austin, TX 78617) and the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex (2001 North Kenney Fort Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78665). The Burnet cohort uses Haley-Nelson Park on Garden Trails Rd, Burnet, TX 78611. Administrative contact for the Austin academy is centered at 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617. Families should confirm which complex applies to a given team or program before traveling.

Tryouts, season rhythm, and registration

Tryouts ahead of each August–June season are commonly scheduled in May; exact dates shift by year and age band, so confirm the current window with Austin staff. Registration and tryout signup run through Barça Academy US online forms tied to the Austin location. The season calendar aligns with the academic year. Some players continue with their home clubs while training in Technical or Development programming, which the academy accommodates when schedules allow.

Tuition, payment, and policies

Program tuition varies by track and age. Families may pay in full and receive a 5 percent discount, choose a monthly payment plan, or combine sibling savings—a 10 percent discount applies for each additional registered sibling. Major card brands are accepted through the online payment platform. Flexible payment arrangements are offered at the network level; Austin staff can explain what applies to a given enrollment. The academy does not provide housing for traveling families. On-site care includes a licensed athletic trainer during training; all participants must carry primary medical insurance, and the program provides excess medical coverage only after a family policy is used, without covering deductibles, so parents should plan for ordinary medical costs.
