About

Boerne Soccer Club is a nonprofit youth soccer organization that has served the Boerne area since 1979. The club blends large in-house recreational leagues with professionally coached competitive tracks so families can grow from first touches through high-school select without changing clubs.

What the club offers

Tots introduces the youngest players in short weekly sessions led by licensed club coaches. Recreational soccer for roughly U4–U10 uses KidSafe-approved volunteer parent coaches, a club-provided curriculum, and on-field support from the recreational director and staff coaches at practices. Older recreational players move into the Boerne Super League (BSL) for roughly U11–U14 boys and U11–U15 girls with 9v9 games at Boerne City Park, standings, playoffs, and awards. A separate SARA track serves older teens (about U15–U18) with a mix of home games and travel around San Antonio.

Center of Excellence and Select

The Center of Excellence (COE) is the competitive path for about U7–U10 (birth years around 2016–2019), with two 90-minute training sessions per week, goalkeeper training, up to eight league games per fall and spring in the SA-PDF club league around San Antonio, and about two tournaments per season. Micro COE at U6 is co-ed with two 60-minute sessions weekly and in-house games at Boerne City Park. Players are grouped by ability without a tryout requirement; directors place rosters for development.

Select serves roughly U11 and older (birth years about 2007–2015). Teams follow a USSF-aligned club curriculum with nationally licensed coaches, up to four training opportunities per week including two team sessions plus optional technical work, goalkeeper training twice weekly, up to eight league games each fall and spring, preseason and postseason tournaments when rosters allow, and STYSA spring cup play. High school select players may also coach in the recreational program. A short observation form is available for families who want to visit a session before tryouts.

Development philosophy

The vision is for players to reach their full potential through development-focused work, strong coaching and leadership, and a lifelong love of the game. Loyalty, honesty, and positivity anchor how staff frame training. Competitive programming stresses technical growth, decision-making, and long-term player development over short-term results alone.

Tryouts, placement, and registration

Select tryouts use a multi-night format so staff can evaluate players across different exercises; new and returning players must register for the tryout event in PlayMetrics to be considered for a roster. Players who must miss days should email Mike Erwin at merwin@boernesoccer.org; at least one session is required for placement consideration, and summer make-up opportunities exist for those who cannot attend main dates. Tryout registration opens each cycle toward the next select year (often beginning in April); night-by-night schedules are set each season.

Recreational fall registration for 2026 opens April 27. Many spring programs open on their own calendars; season start dates appear when families enroll. Registration and payments run through PlayMetrics for most offerings.

Fees, uniforms, and aid

For 2025–2026, program fees include Tots at $105; recreational about U4–U6 at $180 and U7–U10 at $195; BSL about U11+ at $250; rec skills at $190; Micro Academy (U6) at $385; Academy U8 at $1,175 and U9/U10 at $1,275 for the full year, with spring-only COE options at $750–$800 depending on age band; Select at $1,950 for U11, $2,125 for U12–U16, and $1,850 for U17–U19. Center of Excellence uniform bundles are about $211 ($45 for Micro COE). Select fees bundle coaching, practices, league registration and insurance, select boot camp, STYSA spring cup entry, one external tournament fee per long season, skills access, in-house tournaments, college-program access, and a Soccer Parenting membership. After the commitment payment, extended payment plans are available through the registrar, and scholarships or financial aid may be requested through the club’s aid process.
