About

Bryan Soccer Club is a volunteer-run recreational youth soccer organization for Bryan and the wider Brazos Valley. Play is sanctioned through South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) and Brazos Valley Youth Soccer Association (BVYSA), with age-group coordinators helping families navigate divisions from about U5 coed through a combined U15–U17 bracket when numbers allow.

What the club offers

The program centers on in-town recreational soccer: new players receive a uniform bundle (shirt, shorts, and socks), and registration bundles South Texas and Brazos Valley association fees, basic equipment, trophies, and referee coverage where available. Returning players are expected to reuse the prior fall uniform when continuing in the spring. Shin guards are mandatory at every practice and game; soccer cleats are recommended, and baseball-style cleats are not allowed.

Facilities and practice

League games use Bryan Regional Athletic Complex (BRAC), Veterans Park (VPAC), and Bachman Park. The City of Bryan allows BRAC fields for scheduled games only; teams may not hold practices there, and unauthorized use can bring city fines. Practice days, times, and field spots are set by each coach, often with parent and player input, at permitted locations away from BRAC when BRAC is reserved for games.

Registration, equipment, and policies

Older divisions may submit coach or team requests; coordinators balance rosters and cannot honor every preference. Registration fees are non-refundable except for documented medical emergencies. For weather, families should follow coach guidance and the club’s Facebook updates; if thunder is heard or lightning is seen, play stops immediately and the day may be called. The club aims to assign independent-contractor referees for all U8 and older matches, but coverage is not guaranteed every game.

Season rhythm and key dates

Each spring cycle typically includes milestones such as online registration opening, optional in-person registration, a coaches meeting and meet-the-coach gathering at BRAC, a first game Saturday, a picture day, weekends with no games, a last regular game window for younger brackets, and a possible end-of-season tournament day for U10 and older. For spring 2026 the club scheduled online registration from January 1, in-person registration January 24, registration closing January 31, coaches meeting February 14 at 9:15 AM at BRAC, meet-the-coach at 10:00 AM the same day, first games February 28, no games March 7, March 14, and April 4, picture day April 11, last regular games for U5–U8 on May 9, and a possible tournament May 9 for U10 and older. All dates can change; confirm the current calendar with the registrar or age-group coordinator before planning travel.

Volunteers and how families help

Bryan Soccer Club depends on volunteers for coaching, team parent roles, board service, concessions, and age-group coordination. Families who want to coach or join the board can talk with current board members or the registrar about open roles. Several age-group coordinators also speak Spanish for bilingual families.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and program levels does Bryan Soccer Club offer? The club runs recreational coed and gender-split divisions from about U5 through older teens. U7 and U8 often play together unless numbers allow separate U7 and U8 teams; U9–U10, U11–U12, and U13–U14 work the same way in their bands. A U17 coed bracket combines roughly U15 through U17 and may split into boys and girls teams if registration supports it.

Where does Bryan Soccer Club train and play?Games are scheduled at Bryan Regional Athletic Complex (BRAC), Veterans Park (VPAC), and Bachman Park. BRAC is for scheduled games only—no practices there. Coaches set practice locations and times at permitted fields elsewhere.

When does registration open and how does the season flow? Each spring the club announces online registration start, optional in-person registration, a closing date, a coaches meeting and meet-the-coach at BRAC, first games, blackout weekends, picture day, last games for younger ages, and a possible tournament for U10 and older. For spring 2026 that timeline ran from early January registration through a May 9 finish for U5–U8 and possible U10+ tournament play the same day. Confirm the current year’s dates with the registrar because they change season to season.

What is Bryan Soccer Club’s approach to sideline behavior and player safety? The league is recreational and enforces zero tolerance for yelling at players, referees, or coaches, belittling anyone, or physical violence. Families who see misconduct should alert club leadership so the board can follow the Parents Code of Conduct. Lightning and thunder stop play immediately.

How can families contact Bryan Soccer Club or get quick updates?Call or text the registrar for registration help, or email malorye.soccer@gmail.com. Age-group coordinators cover specific divisions and several speak Spanish. Same-day announcements, weather updates, and frequent questions appear on the club’s Facebook feed between formal mailings.
