About

Putnam County Youth Soccer Association (PCYSA) is a community club based in Greencastle, Indiana, serving boys and girls across Putnam County and nearby areas with recreational programming and competitive select and travel teams. The club aims for a safe, supportive, and competitive environment so every player can grow regardless of prior experience, from brand-new players through more advanced athletes.

What the club offers

Recreation includes Little Kickers for the youngest players and a coed recreation league with age bands grouped into U6, U8, U10, and U11–U13 combinations. Competitive pathways include WCSSF select soccer and ISL travel soccer for older youth. Travel team coaches hold U.S. Soccer coaching licenses, and recreation coaches are expected to earn U.S. Soccer grassroots certification, complete concussion awareness training, and pass Indiana Soccer background screening. PCYSA is also part of the Indy Eleven Youth Soccer Program, a statewide grassroots initiative that links member clubs with Eleven’s youth development network.

Schedule, registration, and paperwork

Spring Little Kickers and recreation registration closes February 15, with practices beginning the week of March 30 and Saturday games starting April 11, typically between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Select and travel registration for the same spring cycle also closes February 15. Families register players through GotSport, choosing the recreation program or the select and travel program as appropriate. WCSSF select play requires a current player photo and birth certificate upload at registration unless the club already has both on file from a prior season.

Fees, discounts, and scholarships

Little Kickers registration is $50; recreation league U5–U12 is $80. Select and travel registration is $180 and covers referees for home games, tournament fees, liability insurance, field maintenance, equipment, and uniforms. Families can pay in full or use a three-payment schedule for select and travel. A 10% sibling discount applies when families enter the code SIBLING10 after choosing a payment plan. Partial and full registration scholarships are available for select and travel costs through the travel coordinator email; recreation league scholarships are available for families who qualify.

Volunteers and conduct expectations

The club relies on volunteers for head and assistant recreation coaches, age group coordinators who help on game weekends and support coaches and parents, and other roles. Volunteers must complete Indiana Soccer background screening, live in Putnam or surrounding counties, and remain members in good standing with fees paid and no active disciplinary restrictions. Coaches are expected to represent the club professionally toward families, opponents, and referees; misconduct can lead to disciplinary action.
