About

Sporting Blue Valley is a premier youth soccer organization based in Overland Park, Kansas, and an official Sporting Kansas City Academy Affiliate. Founded in 1977, the club grew from a local recreational league into one of the largest programs in the state, serving thousands of players from preschool through high school. SBV develops Kansas and Missouri players with an opportunity-first pathway that emphasizes individual growth on and off the field, with more than 2,000 collegiate commitments across NCAA and NAIA levels and more than 200 boys placed into the Sporting KC Academy than any other club in the country.

Programs and competitive pathways

Families can choose recreation, Juniors Academy, and tiered premier teams from Pre-K through U19. Recreational soccer splits into fall cycles for Pre-K through second grade and third through twelfth grade so younger players learn in age-appropriate groups while older rec players keep team-based league play. The 2026–27 Juniors Academy bridges early development before premier placement.

Premier programming layers Heartland Soccer Association play with national platforms. Girls premier teams can advance through Pre-ECNL, MADL, National 1, ECNL Regional League, and ECNL. Boys premier pathways include the Sporting Development League, National Academy League, and MLS NEXT. The club’s boys and girls platform teams align with ECNL girls and MLS NEXT boys at the highest competitive tiers. Supplemental training includes Ball Mastery for Pre-K through third grade, a Goalkeeper Academy, Futsal Skills Club for kindergarten through fifth grade, Soccer Pals for ages two and a half through five, adaptive TEAM Soccer for players ages five through eighteen, and seasonal camps from kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Development philosophy and Sporting KC connection

SBV is a founding member of the Sporting Club Network, connecting families to Sporting KC coaching education, curriculum resources, feeder opportunities into the Sporting KC Academy, and events at Children’s Mercy Park. Paid professional coaches lead premier and academy training, supported by hundreds of volunteers in recreation. The Sporting BV Path to Pro stresses technical mastery, game understanding, and physical preparation at every age band so players can move from recreation into platform soccer when ready.

Training locations and headquarters

The club headquarters and primary outdoor training hub is the SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex at 13700 Switzer Road in Overland Park. Ball Mastery and many premier sessions use that complex; TEAM Soccer meets on weekend mornings at Field 12. Soccer Pals runs at Prestige Indoor Sports near 435 and Metcalf, and Futsal Skills Club uses Prairie Star and Aspen Grove elementary sites during winter cycles.

Tryouts and registration

2026–27 premier tryouts register through the club’s online portal, with open registration promoted for the 2026–27 premier cycle alongside 2026 fall recreational programs and Juniors Academy. Premier tryouts for the 2026–27 season are scheduled June 5–8 at the SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex, with a pre-tryout camp June 1–4 at the same headquarters. Summer camps and seasonal rec windows open on rolling registration buttons on the club home portal. Families manage rosters and payments through Sprocket Sports once teams are assigned.
