About

Ambush FC is a premier youth soccer club serving families across Southeast Idaho from a Pocatello home base, with training and games that stretch through the Snake River Valley from Idaho Falls to Marsh Valley. The club competes as a member of Idaho Youth Soccer Association District II and emphasizes inclusive placement—every registered player is assigned to a team matched by grade and age, with skill tiers used to balance competitive groups rather than cut players from the program.

Premier teams and league play

Ambush FC Premier teams play in the Snake River Valley League with weekday and weekend matches depending on each team’s schedule. The club uses creative team identities such as Royal Team or Silver Dragons instead of coach-named squads, and a co-coaching model shares training responsibilities across age groups so player development stays fluid within the club. Coaches score players on a 1–5 rubric across five skill areas to form balanced rosters, with mid-season opportunities to advance within premier tiers when coaches agree a player is ready.

Season commitment is required even though there are no long-term contracts: families choose fall, spring, or a bundled year. Ambush FC Premier is priced at $700 for two seasons or $450 for a single season, with payment plans available for a $30 processing fee. Returning Ambush players receive a $100 discount when uniform or gear replacement is not required that year. Club gear is required and is handled through the club’s online gear shop as part of the registration package.

Practices across Pocatello, Inkom, and American Falls

To reduce drive time for families spread across eastern Idaho, Ambush FC rotates practices among Pocatello, Inkom, and American Falls. Coaches travel between hubs so teams stay unified, and the club schedules one to two combined practices per month at rotating sites to build cohesion across locations. Sunday league play and Sunday tournaments are optional—coaches and families can choose competitive paths that fit their schedule, and guest appearances on another Ambush FC team may be available when a player’s primary team is not entered in a weekend event.

Tryouts and joining mid-season

Club tryouts for incoming players are held at Ellis Elementary School in Pocatello. Grade-based sessions run on June 10 with 2nd–3rd grade from 9:00–10:00 a.m., 4th–5th grade from 10:30–11:30 a.m., 6th–7th grade from 1:00–2:00 p.m., and 8th grade and older from 3:00–4:00 p.m. Make-up tryouts for all ages are June 15 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the same location. Signing up for the tryout interest list is not a commitment to join—it helps coaches plan attendance. Players who miss the primary date can still contact the club to schedule a skills evaluation.

Tournaments and guest play

League registration fees do not include travel tournaments. Teams typically target two to three optional events per season; costs are shared per roster (for example, the IFFC Shootout has been about $66 per player). Guest players from other Ambush FC teams may fill a roster without paying guest tournament fees when invited, but families are expected to honor their primary team commitment first.

Clinics, camps, and personal training

Beyond league teams, Ambush FC offers skills clinics and training blocks for younger players (ages 4–7) and older groups (8+), including one-hour group sessions and small-group or one-on-one work focused on fitness, mobility, ball mastery, shooting, defending, and goalkeeper skills. Summer training runs June through July, and families can request personal training appointments for tactical, technical, and physical development at any age.

Registration and parent resources

Player registration and season payments run through GotSport. The club parent portal consolidates tryout forms, gear ordering, pricing breakdowns, and coach contact paths.
