About

Dorchester Youth Soccer (DYS) is a nonprofit Boston neighborhood club run by volunteer board members and coaches. It has served the community for more than forty years and welcomes roughly seven hundred players each season across spring and fall programming for ages four through fifteen, combining an in-town House League with travel teams that compete in the Boston Area Youth Soccer league (BAYS). The club is affiliated with Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).

What the club offers

House League focuses on younger players in Pre-K through second grade, with age bands such as Pre-K, K1 and K2, and combined first and second grades. Rosters target about ten players per team on a small-sided format (four field players and a goalkeeper). Games run on Sundays at Pope John Paul Park in Dorchester during an eight-week season. For families who want a higher commitment level, DYS fields BAYS travel teams; BAYS sets schedules and divisions while DYS handles registration and team placement through its own season calendar. Travel families typically order uniforms through the club’s CollegeHype and Ruffneck gear order form; production and shipping can take several weeks, so ordering early helps players be ready for opening games.

Development philosophy

DYS aims for soccer that feels fun, respectful, and rewarding while developing well-rounded players in a safe, educational setting. Because the organization is entirely volunteer-driven—from the board to the sidelines—the culture depends on families stepping up to coach, help on committees, and support game days.

Where games and training happen

House League Sunday games are held at Pope John Paul Park in Dorchester. BAYS travel follows the league’s home-and-away structure across the Boston area; opponent fields and kickoff times follow each season’s BAYS schedule.

Tryouts, registration, and season timing

For spring 2026, House League registration closes March 15. BAYS travel games are slated to begin Saturday, April 11. Pope John Paul Park is expected to open for the spring season around April 15, and House League play starts Sunday, April 26, with eight sessions and no games on Memorial Day weekend. Fall 2026 travel tryouts are planned for May; every player—new or returning—registers for tryouts at no fee and attends a tryout session for team consideration. Ongoing registration and payments for DYS programs run through the club’s AdminSports registration portal at secure.adminsports.net/dyssoccer.
