About

Framingham United Soccer Club (FUSC) is a Massachusetts nonprofit community soccer organization for Framingham families. The club runs fall and spring seasons that each last about ten weeks: fall usually starts the first Saturday in September after Labor Day weekend, and spring usually starts the second Saturday of April. Programming is built around an in-town intramural track for PreK through fourth grade, travel teams for roughly third through eighth grade as a member of Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS), and high school 11v11 teams organized in the spring.

What the club offers

In-town soccer keeps younger players in Framingham with age-appropriate divisions from PreK/K through fourth grade. Travel soccer adds a competitive pathway for players who try out and are placed on rosters; current second through seventh graders attend travel tryouts each May and June for placement for the next soccer year (fall and spring). A typical first-time travel player tries out in the spring of second grade for third-grade placement. Fifth through eighth graders who attend tryouts are placed on a travel team; third and fourth graders who are not placed on travel are moved into the in-town program with refund options for the spring travel installment when applicable. High school players can join the spring high school program for full-sided play.

Development philosophy and partnerships

FUSC exists to support soccer development while encouraging social, civic, educational, and athletic engagement, led by volunteers who want structured, enjoyable soccer for member players. The vision emphasizes inclusive, safe, affordable, fun soccer and ongoing development for players, coaches, and referees, working alongside Massachusetts Youth Soccer. Core values include a fun, safe, inclusive, healthy environment; continuous learning for coaches, referees, players, and families; respect for rules, opponents, officials, teammates, and self; and using soccer to teach life lessons.

Where teams train and play

Home soccer activity centers on city and club venues such as the Merchant Road field complex, Victory Fields, Barbieri School, Brophy School fields, Potter Road, and King School, with other permitted Framingham fields also in use. Travel league games follow the BAYS schedule. Families should check field status and maps for parking and layout at major sites before heading to practice or games.

Tryouts, registration, and fees

Travel tryouts run in May and June at the Merchant Road Field Complex; families should plan to arrive about thirty minutes early for check-in. Players must complete online registration before tryouts begin; registration for tryouts typically opens May 1 through the club’s registration provider. Current fourth through seventh graders have two tryout sessions; current second and third graders have one. Conflicts, documented illness, or injury should be communicated to the Boys or Girls Director before the scheduled session for consideration.

Registration for fall opens May 1. Spring registration opens November 1 with early-bird options for in-town soccer, and spring signup continues through March 15, with late signups possibly waitlisted. All players register online through the club’s Stack Sports registration link. Travel registration is priced as a full-year commitment covering fall and spring; an optional payment plan pays the fall portion before tryouts and automatically bills the spring portion on January 15. For spring 2026 the club gave sample registration fees of PreK/K $140, first and second grade $150, third and fourth grade $175, travel $175, and high school $140—confirm the amount shown at checkout because fees can change by season. Uniforms are separate from registration; the standard blue FUSC kit is supplied through Natick Outdoor Store (38 North Street, Natick; 508-653-9400), with reversible jerseys for PreK through second grade and the standard kit from third grade up. Travel coaches may ask players to add a white alternate jersey for color conflicts.

Withdrawals before the first scheduled game can qualify for a full registration refund minus a $5 card processing fee on reimbursements; after the first game the standard policy is no refund except special cases such as season-ending injuries, handled with the registrar.

Boosters, aid, and extras

Framingham United Soccer Boosters is a separate 501(c)(3) charitable group that fundraises to keep participation costs lower, support developmental opportunities, and help with capital needs. Families needing need-based financial aid should email the registrar rather than coaches. Families registering three or more children should contact the registrar for a sibling discount code. High school seniors can apply for club college scholarships; recent cycles have used a mid-April due date, so families should confirm the current year’s deadline with the club.
