About

Klein Soccer Club (KSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth soccer organization based at Elizabeth Kaiser Meyer Park in Spring, Texas, in the heart of the Klein Independent School District. The club began in 1976 with about 300 players and scattered school fields; it now reports roughly 4,000 children across all levels each fall and spring on about twenty-eight soccer fields, with offices on the north side of Meyer Park and a long-term field relationship with Harris County.

History and facilities

The park honors Elizabeth Kaiser Meyer, granddaughter of early Klein-area settler Henrich Kaiser. Harris County acquired land with conservation funds, and KSC worked with Precinct 3 and later Precinct 4 to add improvements. Most of the park’s roughly 172 acres lie in the Cypress Creek flood plain. KSC signed its initial Meyer Park lease in 1980 and added south-side field space in 1986. Games for many ages center on Meyer Park; older recreational brackets may travel to nearby areas such as The Woodlands, Cy-Fair, Kingwood, and Magnolia when schedules require.

Mission

The club promotes physical health and mental and emotional growth and works to develop, govern, and promote soccer across ages and levels of competition.

Recreational soccer

Recreational programming brings together players about U4 through U16 who want soccer primarily for fun. Younger groups use small-sided play that grows with age: coed U4–U6 in 4v4 without goalkeepers and coaches on the field; U7–U8 single-gender 4v4 with a modified rule set; U9–U10 single-gender 7v7 with goalkeepers, referees, and the offside rule. Older recreational groups use 9v9 for about U11–U12 and full-field 11v11 from about U13 upward, with the club noting that U15 and older groups depend on registration interest. Registration materials summarize formats from U4–U5 through U15-plus; families should confirm the current age chart PDF for recreational signup. Klein runs fall and spring recreational seasons; spring typically runs February through May with registration often opening in November. Registration and payments run through GotSport, with check or card options and a mailing address at PO Box 11973, Spring, Texas 77391-1973. Applications are not processed until payment is received, and returned checks incur the NSF fee shown on registration materials.

Competitive soccer

Competitive soccer is the pathway for players moving beyond recreational soccer. Families register for tryouts in GotSport; players are placed by skill and commitment. Teams train multiple times per week for about ninety minutes (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday on the sample schedule) and play weekend league games in a competitive South Texas league, with possible additional tournaments. Program prices bundle fall and spring league registration, insurance, uniforms, and attendance at two in-season tournaments for the covered age bands. Competitive fees include girls about U10–U11 at $685; boys about U11 at $685, about U12 at $765, and about U13–U17 at $985. Uniform fulfillment is arranged through Soccer Post (formerly Soccer 4 All on Louetta) after tryouts. The competitive track also aims to support players exploring college soccer.

Tournaments and events

The Klein Memorial Classic is advertised for May 23–25, 2026 as a boys and girls tournament, with detailed registration and operations information hosted by Texas Sports Group on its tournament site.

Scholarships and aid

The scholarship program uses a confidential board-reviewed process with a maximum of about $100 per child and about $250 per family, separate from the Every Kid Sports Pass or other outside aid, with a deadline one week before general registration closes and required income documentation. Families typically cover a uniform kit cost of about $65 including shipping for a reversible jersey, shorts, and socks for the stated uniform cycle. Confirm current forms and deadlines with scholarship materials before each season.
