About

Norpoint Soccer Association (Norpoint Soccer Club) is a volunteer-run youth soccer organization serving northeast Tacoma, Browns Point, Dash Point, and nearby Pierce County communities. Founded in 1969—before many larger Puget Sound clubs—the association blends accessible recreation for young players with a select pathway for ages 9 through 18 that competes in Washington Youth Soccer leagues and regional tournaments. Families can register fall recreation through Sports Connect, explore select tryouts each spring, or add Challenger summer camps at Meeker Middle School when sessions are scheduled.

Programs and age groups

Recreation welcomes all skill levels and is organized by division: Micro for the youngest players, Mod for U7–U8 and U9–U10, Mod Rec for U11–U12, and Rec for U13 and older. Select club soccer serves youth roughly ages 9–18 (U9 through U18) in a year-round model with fall league play, winter league play, spring league play, and optional state-cup paths such as Founders Cup (select-focused) or Presidents Cup (premier/select). Select teams are placed in North Puget Sound League (NPSL) or South Sound United League (SSUL) based on coach and board evaluation. Select registration is handled through the player’s team rather than the open online recreation flow.

Recreation seasons and registration

Fall recreation registration for the 2026–2027 cycle is open with a June 30 closing date for the fall season. Families create or log into a Sports Connect account, choose the Fall 2026–2027 player registration program, and complete online payment. New players upload age verification (birth certificate or passport); U9 and older players also submit a headshot for a player identification card. Teams fill on a first-come basis, so early registration is encouraged when rosters are tight.

Select soccer, tryouts, and competition

Select tryouts are held each spring at Meeker Middle School turf (4402 Nassau Ave NE, Tacoma). There is no tryout fee. Select teams train and play in a more competitive environment, enter summer select and premier tournaments as rosters choose, and are expected to participate in fall league, a state cup tournament, and spring league. Coaches may require additional team fees beyond the club player fee. Uniform kits and extra summer tournament costs are separate from the published select player fee.

Fees (2026 examples)

Fall 2026 recreation fees are Micro $90, Mod U7–U8 $135, Mod U9–U10 $150, Mod Rec U11–U12 $170, and Rec U13-up $200. Select individual player fees for the 2026–2027 season are $550 for U9–U10 and $650 for U11 and older; those amounts cover fall and spring league fees, one Washington Youth Soccer state tournament entry, referee fees, player insurance, field rental, field equipment, coaches training, and player training—but not uniform kits or optional summer tournaments. Teams are encouraged to play at least two tournaments per season beyond state cups, with those costs paid at the team level.

Fields, camps, and local roots

Home games and many trainings center on Meeker Middle School in northeast Tacoma. The club also hosts Challenger Sports summer camp weeks in July and August at the same turf complex when camp registration is open. Norpoint’s long community history includes championship-era Norpoint Royals teams and alumni who went on to professional careers; today the club still emphasizes that a smaller, volunteer-led program can develop strong players without the overhead of a large commercial academy.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and programs does Norpoint Soccer Association offer?Norpoint runs recreation from Micro through U13 and older divisions, open to all skill levels, plus select club soccer for youth about ages 9–18. Recreation is the entry path for most families; select teams play year-round in NPSL or SSUL with fall, winter, and spring league seasons and optional Washington Youth Soccer state cups.

How much does fall recreation and select soccer cost?Fall 2026 recreation fees are $90 (Micro), $135 (Mod U7–U8), $150 (Mod U9–U10), $170 (Mod Rec U11–U12), and $200 (Rec U13-up). Select player fees for 2026–2027 are $550 for U9–U10 and $650 for U11 and older, covering league play, one state tournament, insurance, training, and related club costs but not uniforms or extra tournaments. Coaches may add team fees, and select teams often budget separate travel tournament costs.

When are tryouts and how does select registration work?Select tryouts are held each May at Meeker Middle School with no tryout charge. After placement, select players register through their team—not the same online flow as recreation. Teams are expected to play fall league, a state cup, and spring league, with league assignment in NPSL or SSUL decided by the coach and board.

Where does Norpoint train and play home games?Meeker Middle School at 4402 Nassau Ave NE, Tacoma, is the primary home venue, including turf used for select tryouts and Challenger summer camps. Recreation and select schedules follow league assignments, so families should confirm practice days with coaches once rosters are set.

How do families register for fall recreation?Use the club’s Sports Connect registration link for Fall 2026–2027 before the June 30 deadline, pay online, and upload age verification for new players. U9 and older players also need a headshot for a player card. Registrar@norpointsoccer.org can help with recreation signup questions.

How can families contact the club?Email president@norpointsoccer.org for select program questions or Registrar@norpointsoccer.org for recreation registration. Mail can be sent to 6716 Eastside Dr. NE, Suite 1-144, Tacoma, WA 98422.
