About

RISE Soccer Club (RISE SC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth soccer organization rooted in Houston. Houston Express Soccer Club (1978) and Eclipse Soccer Club (1986) merged in 2017 to form RISE; Texans SC joined in April 2019. The club runs a full-service pathway from introductory play through college-oriented elite teams, with fees reinvested into facilities and programming.

What the club offers

RISE Rec serves boys and girls from preschool through about U12 (birth years 2022/U4 through 2014/U12 in the club’s seasonal age grid), with community-based teams, parent-chosen home training campuses, licensed Rec Player Development Coaches leading training, volunteer parent team managers at games, and a non-league-stress curriculum focused on skill, confidence, and creativity. RISE Futures gives fall rec registrants a supplemental all-star-style bridge toward Youth Academy and Competitive. A Rec BOOST add-on adds extra weekly training over an eight-week block.

The Youth Academy is the first competitive step for birth years 2019 (U7) through 2016 (U10): pool training grouped by ability, two 80-minute sessions per week on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday pattern, seasonal or yearly commitment, DESIRE League and development friendlies, and optional USC league participation when approved (with families covering USC league game fees for teams approved to enter that league). Campus-specific teams form from Player Development Staff decisions.

Competitive programming spans Select and Premier for roughly U11 through U18/U19. Select suits players who want a yearly commitment with a somewhat less demanding travel and intensity profile; Premier adds stronger coaching, preparation, and in-area competition emphasis for players exiting Youth Academy or seeking a higher local load than Select. Training stays at two 80-minute sessions weekly, with local, state, and regional competition, seasonal written and in-person feedback, college-placement support resources, and at least two RISE events included in standard Competitive fees for those programs.

Elite is the top pyramid: Girls Academy (GA), boys ECNL, and boys ECNL Regional League squads drawn from the strongest players in the pool, with year-round expectation, merit-based roster and playing time, Veo recording, InStat analytics, TRX fitness tooling, individual development plans, and facility access seven days a week for rostered players. Merit-based funding can waive club fees for qualifying top boys ECNL teams at listed U13 and U18/U19 bands and for top Girls Academy teams; the club has also promoted broader funded age groups over time, so families should confirm current eligibility with Elite directors.

Facilities and training footprint

RISE emphasizes owned and partner fields across Houston. South Campus on Stella Link is a large club-controlled site with multiple pitches, futsal courts, and TRX stations. McGovern Park adds a championship field with seating, locker rooms, concessions, and meeting space. The Central footprint also includes West University Place and Bellaire area schools and parks (for example West U Elementary, Pershing and Pin Oak middle schools, Rice School, Feld Park, and related rec and scout-house sites). Southwest programming centers on Community Park and surrounding Sugar Land, Missouri City/Sienna, and Pearland-area access, with dozens of natural and synthetic fields, including stadium-style venues for major events. Only current RISE players and coaches in approved club gear may use these facilities for club activities.

Tryouts, registration, and family costs

Advanced placements run through Youth Academy, Competitive (Select and Premier), and Elite. Families start by emailing the Player Development contact for the player’s birth year and gender (Youth Academy: Jose Sideregts; Competitive boys: Jose Sideregts; Competitive girls: Nolverto Rodriguez; Elite ECNL boys: Eldin Sijercic; Girls Academy: Kevin Cross; ECNL-RL boys: Tarik Guendouzi). Pre-registration for tryouts and evaluations is handled in PlayMetrics and carries no registration fee. Evaluation sessions run throughout the year; after a session, staff communicates next steps and placement.

Youth Academy registration fees appear inside PlayMetrics after sign-in; uniforms for the current cycle are mandatory, purchased through soccer.com with a personal link, and sit outside the registration fee. Competitive and Elite programming includes monthly payment plans, multiple-child discounts, incentive referral options, Reliant Energy partner perks, and separate uniform and travel-cost expectations (including coach travel outside greater Houston split among families when applicable). Exact dollar amounts change by program and season, so families should review the active PlayMetrics checkout for their player.

Mission, values, and coaching

The mission is to develop players in an environment led by highly licensed coaches who embrace every player’s talents. Club values cluster around respect, improvement, success, and empowerment (including curiosity, shared goals, continuous development, and decision ownership). The vision targets nationally competitive depth while keeping player success and club success aligned. Families can review coaching credentials and bios together in the staff directory.

How to reach RISE

Call (281) 612-4210 or email info@risesc.org for general questions. For tryouts, use the same Player Development staff emails shared for Youth Academy, Competitive, and Elite by birth year and gender. Recreational sign-up follows the club’s seasonal rec registration flow; advanced programming uses PlayMetrics links under Play for RISE. The general contact form collects parent and player details with a typical two-business-day response window for questions that program descriptions do not cover.

Frequently asked questions

What ages and program levels does RISE Soccer Club offer?RISE Rec covers roughly U4 through U12 for introductory and community soccer. Youth Academy serves U7 through U10 as the first competitive step with pool training. Competitive Select and Premier cover about U11 through U18/U19 with different intensity and travel profiles. Elite offers Girls Academy, boys ECNL, and boys ECNL-RL teams for top players in the listed U13 through U18/U19 bands. Players older than rec who still want a lighter competitive experience are steered toward Select rather than rec.

Where does the club train or play?Programming splits between Central campuses around West University Place, Bellaire, and nearby schools and parks—including South Campus on Stella Link and McGovern Park—and Southwest sites anchored by Community Park serving Sugar Land, Missouri City/Sienna, Pearland, and surrounding areas. The club operates a large inventory of grass and synthetic fields, including stadium-style venues for major events. Exact training slots depend on age group and campus choice.

When are tryouts or registration?Advanced evaluations run year-round. Families email the Player Development contact for their child’s birth year and gender, then complete PlayMetrics pre-registration for tryouts. Recreational enrollment follows the club’s seasonal rec registration cycle with spring and fall messaging updated each year.

What do tryouts or registration cost?Pre-registering for tryouts and evaluations in PlayMetrics is free. Youth Academy, Competitive, and Elite tuition appears inside PlayMetrics after sign-in, with mandatory uniform purchases handled separately through soccer.com for the current kit cycle.

What does a season or year of club soccer cost?Line-item registration amounts change by program, age group, and season, so families should read the PlayMetrics checkout for their player. Competitive and Elite families can use monthly payment plans and multiple-child discounts where offered, and should budget for uniforms, club-included events beyond the minimum, and team travel assessments, including coach travel outside greater Houston when those costs are shared among parents.

What is the club’s mission, philosophy, or coaching approach?RISE ties club success to player success, emphasizing respect, improvement, success, and empowerment across the membership. Player Development Coaches lead curated sessions—from rec through elite—with strong licensing expectations, video and data tools at higher levels, and seasonal feedback so families understand progress.

How can families contact or register?Call (281) 612-4210 or email info@risesc.org for general help. For tryouts, use the program-specific Player Development emails, then finish PlayMetrics registration. Recreational players follow the RISE Rec registration path; advanced players use the Play for RISE PlayMetrics entry points active for each registration cycle.
