Programs and competitive levels

Juniors Academy serves U6 through U9 boys and girls who want quality training alongside a recreational league schedule. Sessions run at Ann Morrison Park in Boise and Settlers Park in Meridian; the program supplements rec play rather than replacing it and has no league games of its own. Players registered in the Treasure Valley MLS GO league train free; other rec-league or non-league players pay $40 per five-week session.

Competitive programming steps up by age band. 7v7 teams introduce U9 and U10 players to club competition. 9v9 serves U11 and U12 athletes in local and regional events. 11v11 competitive teams split into high-school and non-high-school groups with more local scheduling than the top-tier platforms. Girls U13 through U19 can earn DPL roster spots and travel within Utah and Idaho for league play. Boys and girls U12 through U19 can compete in NPL, with older NPL teams also participating in the N1 elite US Club platform that travels to Montana, eastern Idaho, and northern Idaho. Idaho Surf teams also compete in DPL, NPL, IPL, and IYSA leagues depending on roster level.

Tryouts and seasonal rhythm

Annual tryouts for the 2026–2027 season run June 8–9 for boys and girls U8 through U19. Meridian-based teams try out at Heroes Park; Boise-based teams use Ann Morrison Park. NPL fall seasons typically run early August through early November, with spring from late February through late May. DPL girls seasons span September through May for U13–U14 and November through May for U15–U19. Top NPL and DPL rosters train three sessions per week starting at least two weeks before the season, with winter outdoor sessions bundled into club fees and optional indoor or futsal training available at additional cost.

Coaching approach and club values

Idaho Surf coaches with positive reinforcement and guided questioning so players build creativity and decision-making on the field. Training balances focus, technique, tactics, physical readiness, accountability, game understanding, and initiative—with emphasis shifting by age. The club stresses ethical behavior, sportsmanship, community involvement, and a player-centered holistic model that supports mental, emotional, and physical growth alongside athletic progress.

Fees and family support

Published NPL club fees are $1,895 for U13–U14 and $1,795 for U15–U19 as a one-time payment, with a $300 initial deposit at signing and monthly plans of $292 (U13–U14) or $270 (U15–U19) over six months. DPL girls fees run $1,995 (U13–U14), $1,895 (U15–U17), and $1,695 (U19), with a $400 deposit and monthly plans from $220 to $285 depending on age. Club fees cover coaching, league and referee costs, administration, coach education, and registration; tournament travel and winter training are separate. Families facing hardship can ask about scholarships, volunteer roles, and assistance options.
