About

PVSC United—Portneuf Valley Soccer Club—is a Pocatello-based nonprofit youth soccer organization that anchors recreational and competitive play across Southeast Idaho. For more than four decades the club has run birth-year teams, league schedules, and regional tournaments while relying heavily on volunteer coaches, referees, and event hosts.

Youth Development Program

The Youth Development Program (YDP) introduces players from about U4 through U12 in a fun, skills-forward setting that feeds the competitive pathway. Training pairs with weekly games so young athletes repeat what they learn on the field. Roughly thirteen hundred children participate in the developmental side of the club, with spring and fall cycles that families join as registration opens. Spring schedules and team placement flow through GotSport; players are grouped by birth year from U4 through U11/U12 combined bands where the club uses that split.

Competitive program

Competitive teams span U9 through U19 and train and play under Idaho Youth Soccer Association expectations, including a zero-tolerance standard for referee abuse that applies to every PVSC match with officials. Rostered groups compete in the Snake River League and travel to competitive tournaments around the Mountain West. Indoor preseason work begins in late winter before spring outdoor play; once a player accepts a competitive offer for the annual cycle, the club expects that athlete to remain with PVSC through the end of the committed spring season. High-school-age bands (U16–U19) follow a spring-only fee model so families can align with the high school soccer calendar.

Tryouts, offers, and registration

Each June the club holds tryouts for the competitive program covering both fall and spring seasons. Players who register for tryouts receive email offers with a registration link; athletes who miss a tryout session should still register for tryouts so staff can assign a roster spot when possible. After tryouts, families complete registration and uniform ordering through the club’s online systems. YDP registration opens per season through the program link in GotSport; when Empowering Parents grants apply, families email cortney@pvscunited.com for an invoice and allow three to five business days for processing.

Fees, uniforms, and payment plans

Youth Development fees run $95 for U4–U8 with a new Capelli kit or $75 if the player reuses a prior uniform; U9–U12 costs $105 with a new kit or $85 with a returning uniform. Competitive annual tuition is $600 for U9–U10 with options to pay in full or across two- or three-month plans that include a $25 processing fee on the first installment and full balances due by October 1. U11–U15 annual tuition is $900 with three- or six-month plan choices using the same processing-fee pattern and October 1 payoff. U16–U19 spring-only tuition is $765 with two- or three-month plans and balances due by April 1. Tournament entry is billed separately, every competitive player must purchase the current Capelli uniform, and registration checkout offers optional player registration protection for a small add-on fee. The club does not refund registration fees once processed.

Facilities, tournaments, and player opportunities

Recreational YDP games take place at NOP on West Eldredge Road in Pocatello, while competitive home matches use the Bannock Soccer Complex beside the wellness center; detailed field diagrams are available from the club for parking and field orientation. PVSC also hosts the Spring Classic, a large regional tournament that welcomes well over a hundred visiting teams each year and supports local sports tourism. The club partners with Idaho Youth Soccer to host East Idaho Olympic Development Program tryouts at Bannock and serves as a regional training center for state pool teams. An indoor soccer complex project in the Titan Center on Quinn Road is underway to give families year-round training space as construction milestones finish.

Mission and family support

PVSC balances competition with inclusivity, challenging older players while keeping younger ages in a supportive environment.
