About

Real Soccer Club is one of the longest-running competitive youth soccer organizations in the Treasure Valley, serving families across Ada and Canyon counties through city-branded programs in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Caldwell, and Middleton. The club spans Mini Monarchs academy (U3–U8), Rec Royals recreational soccer (U9–U15), and competitive travel teams (U8–U19), plus adult leagues—giving players a local pathway from first touches through high school.

Programs and age groups

Mini Monarchs is the club’s academy for players born August 1, 2018 through July 31, 2024 (U3–U8). Teams train twice weekly with age-appropriate formats—3v3 for U3–U4, 4v4 for U5–U6, and 5v5 with goalkeepers for U7–U8—under guidance from a professional director of coaching and volunteer parent coaches. Fall and spring seasons each run about nine weeks with league games and a season-ending jamboree.

Rec Royals serves U9–U15 players in a 5v5 developmental league designed for more touches, frequent scoring, and simplified rules. Fall 2026 registration is open for the nine-week cycle covering practices, league games, and a jamboree. Families near Eagle, Garden City, Kuna, Nampa, and Star can choose the Boise, Meridian, Caldwell, or Middleton training hub closest to home.

Competitive teams (U8–U19) train twice weekly—sometimes three sessions by team agreement—and compete locally in the IYSA District 3 Competitive League. Licensed head coaches (or coaches working toward USSF licensing) follow a curriculum emphasizing vision, technique, dynamic play, nutrition, mental toughness, and sportsmanship. The club also offers optional add-ons such as goalkeeper training, speed and agility work, sports nutrition guidance, college prep seminars through Step Ahead Idaho, and winter futsal when teams opt in.

Competitive tryouts and placement

2026–27 competitive tryouts are free and run Monday–Tuesday, June 8–9, 2026 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. No online pre-registration is required—players check in 15–20 minutes early with water, shin guards, and an inflated ball.

Ada County joint tryouts for Real Boise, Real Meridian, and Real Eagle are at Joplin Elementary (12081 W De Meyer St, Boise). Canyon County joint tryouts for Real Middleton and Real Caldwell are at Place Park (75 Marjorie Avenue, Middleton), with U8–U13 on the north side and U14–U19 on the south side. Attending both days is recommended but not mandatory; coaches notify players of roster decisions after the first session. Tryout make-ups may be arranged per team—returning players contact their coach, new players call (208) 713-8924.

Players entering U9 may stay in Rec Royals one more year instead of moving to competitive. U8 academy players are welcome at tryouts to experience the next level even if they continue in academy that season.

Fees and what families pay

Real Soccer Club emphasizes low annual fees relative to other Treasure Valley competitive clubs. For 2026–27 competitive players, pay-in-full totals are $550 for U8–U10 (fall and spring), $695 for U11–U15 (fall and spring), and $550 for U16–U19 (spring only). Equivalent monthly plans spread payments from June through October for younger full-year players without increasing the total. Families can add $75 to opt out of the six-hour-per-year volunteer expectation (three hours each in fall and spring).

Competitive uniforms are not included in player fees—new players order the “Super Duper Pack” (three full kits and backpack) for $181. Local tournaments and winter futsal leagues are team decisions with shared costs (futsal league entry is typically about $75 per player). Academy and Rec Royals season fees start lower—Fall 2026 registration materials reference fees from $69 per player—with a $25 late fee after July 1.

Training locations and club footprint

Academy and competitive training hubs include Joplin Elementary fields in west Boise/Meridian, Hillsdale Park near the South Meridian YMCA, Middleton Place Park, and Skyway Elementary in Caldwell. The club’s five competitive brands—Real Boise CF, Real Meridian CF, Real Eagle CF, Real Caldwell CF, and Real Middleton CF—let families join the program anchored in their community while sharing coaching resources, camps, and club-wide events.

Development partnerships

Real Soccer Club partners with MLS club Real Salt Lake, offering clinics, camp access, pro-game experiences, and Path to Pro opportunities for players and coaches. The club also maintains international identification camp ties and invests heavily in coach education—licensing support, internal clinics, and periodic coaches’ meetings—so training quality stays consistent across age groups.
