What ages and program levels does Sandpoint Soccer Association offer?Kick Start serves ages 2 through 4 with parent-led introductory sessions. Strikers FC is the competitive travel pathway from roughly U8 through U19, with separate spring-only programming for high school ages. SSA also runs seasonal camps such as the June 2026 camp for U5–U18.

Where does SSA train and play home games?Recreational fall 2026 games are at Farmin-Stidwell Elementary School, 1626 Spruce Street, Sandpoint. Strikers use Memorial Field on Ontario Street for tryouts and multiple Sandpoint-area venues: Field of Dreams at 100 Oneida Drive in Ponderay, Travers Park at 2016 Pine Street, and the indoor Striker Arena at 4203 North Boyer Road. Away league and tournament locations depend on each team’s schedule in EWSL, WPL, and US Club play.

When are Strikers tryouts and what do competitive seasons look like?Free Strikers tryouts for 2026–2027 are May 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and May 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Field, with staggered blocks for U8 through U19. Competitive teams generally play a fall season from August through October and a spring season from March through June; U15–U19 teams compete in the spring only. Each team typically trains two or three times per week and plays about six to eight league games per active season, plus the Pend Oreille Cup and other tournaments chosen by the roster.

What do recreational and competitive programs cost?Kick Start is $55 per four-week session. Fall 2026 recreational league registration is $75, with optional reversible red-and-white jerseys for $25. Strikers annual fees for 2026–2027 are $495 for U8, $695 for U9–U10, $895 for U11–U12, $995 for U13–U14, and $495 for U15–U19 spring-only teams, with payment plans and scholarships available. Those fees cover both fall and spring for younger age groups and include league dues, Pend Oreille Cup entry, weekly goalkeeper training, and operating costs, but not away travel or separate uniform kits.

What is SSA’s approach to player development?SSA engages the community through recreational and competitive soccer so kids can play, compete, and build discipline, communication skills, teamwork, and self-belief on and off the field. Recreational programming explicitly favors equal playing time and skill growth over winning. Strikers add higher-level coaching, including weekly goalkeeper sessions, and connect ambitious players to US Club, Idaho Youth Soccer Association, Washington Premier League, and Eastern Washington Select League competition.
